I’m jealous that was amazing. Just bought my first kayak this year. Enjoying some good times in Iowa paddling on a local lake. Hoping to branch out into some river adventures and who knows. Best wishes from an ex-pat in the Midwest.

Wow Amazing to stumble across this award winning vid 43 years after we actually did this trip. Yes. I was part of the Bede College ,Durham trio that also went round in 1978. But we were broke students of Outdoor Ed so did not publicise it much. Did do the Maelstrom/Lofoten Islands in Norway the next year . And graduated at a time when Maggi Thatcher was closing all the centres to save money . Sam Cooke and Pete Davies from the Norkapp Expedition were friends and an inspiration. And I eventually I did get THE job running an OE dept/centre but it was for a big international school. And did subsequently SAIL round the world on a 40ft catamaran. But thats another story . Gopro had not been invented . ha ha. .
